Prediabetes occurs when blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not yet in the range used to diagnose diabetes. Millions of adults have prediabetes without realizing it, making early detection especially important.
Fortunately, progression from prediabetes to Type 2 diabetes is often preventable. Weight loss, regular physical activity, improved nutrition, and healthy lifestyle changes can significantly reduce the risk of developing diabetes.
We evaluate each patient’s individual risk factors, review laboratory findings, and develop personalized recommendations aimed at preventing diabetes whenever possible. In selected patients, medication may also be appropriate as part of an overall prevention strategy.
Early intervention today may help prevent years of future complications.
