Osteoporosis is a condition in which bones gradually become weaker and more susceptible to fracture. Because bone loss often occurs without symptoms, osteoporosis is sometimes called the “silent disease.”

We evaluate patients using bone density testing (DEXA scanning) when appropriate and assess individual fracture risk based on age, medical history, medications, and other risk factors.

Treatment may include calcium and vitamin D optimization, weight-bearing exercise, fall prevention strategies, and medications designed to strengthen bone and reduce fracture risk.

Preventing fractures is our primary goal. Early diagnosis and treatment can help maintain independence and quality of life for many years.
